Is it safe to be adjusted?
Yes. Chiropractic is a very gentle and safe form of healthcare. You will be carefully examined by the Doctor at your initial visit to determine if you are a candidate for Chriopractic care and to rule out any contrindications.
Do I need X-Rays?
Often times X-Rays are required, especially if there have been any recent injuries. They let us see if there is degeneration (arthritis), reduction in the curvature of the spine, bone spurs, disc degeneration, fracture, among other things. Radiographs are an additional diagnostic tool to help us determine the best course of care.
Will I need to come back forever?
We are often asked by new patients if once they are adjusted, will they always need to be adjusted? The answer is no. Often times, however, you will find that once your spine is in proper alignment, and you are aware of what it feels like to be "well adjusted", you will be aware when your spine is out of alignment, and choose to return for treatment. We do recommend, however, that all patients be on a maintenance program, to reduce pain, increase mobility, and increase and promote overall health.
How long does an appointment take?
Your initial exam is the lengthiest appointment. The doctor will review your health history and perform a thorough examination. There will also be time to go over any questions you may have. This appointment usally takes 30-45 minutes. Once a course of care is determined and agreed upon, an office visit for an adjustment takes about 10-15 minutes. This of course is an estimate and can vary.
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes we accept health insurance. We are providers of many different insurances. Let us know what policy you have and we will check your insurance and verify what you have for Chiropractic coverage. If we are not a provider of your particular insurance, we will still check your benefits. Often times you will be eligilbe for out of network coverage. We will always check your policy and verify what you have for Chiropractic benefits. If you do not have insurance, we have many payment options available. We will discuss our financial policies, as well as payment obligations and payment options, before you begin care.
